Thank you so much to Rebecca Robinson who ran the Robin Hood half marathon on Sunday & raised an amazing £660 for Jakes Foundation. We are overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity & of course by people like Rebecca who are willing to fundraise to help us to raise awareness of brain tumours.
David & Hayley Liepins have held a Golf Day over the past four years in honour of Greg Brooke’s who died from SADS in 2009, raising money for charities linked to this syndrome. This year they very generously decided to share the event with Jakes Foundation & we were delighted to receive a cheque for £1317.77, we want to thank them both for all the hard work they put in to making the day a success & thank them for their support. We can only hope that one day there will be a cure for brain tumours, I just wish we could have saved our beautiful Jake x
A massive thank you to John Mulligan, Abaco Insurance and everyone at Rothley Park Golf club. Yesterday they held a charity golf day and dinner which raised £3150. Incredible effort and amazing generosity, thanks to all for golfing for Jake.
Team Jake is assembled!!! Day 1-Dublin to Mullingar. Lets ride!! A wet and rainy start to Day 2, but nothing stops this lot from riding For Jake. Drumshanbo here we come x A cool morning with stiff legs and few last minute bike repairs before Day 3 begins. Today we head to Easkey to raise a glass to our beautiful Jake on his 25th birthday. xx
What a day. Hills, wind and rain but Team Jake did brilliantly and all arrived in Easkey to raise a pint of Guinness to our beautiful Jake on his birthday. Thanks for all the support and donations, we’ve been truly overwhelmed by everyone’s kind words and generosity. X
It seems like months of planning are finally coming together for our Ireland Coast to Coast ride, shirts, support vehicles & bikes all ready to go with our 30 riders. The support has been overwhelming, as always, the team has raised an AMAZING £14000 & still rising!!! We couldn’t do this without everyone’s continued support, we are truly grateful, I only wish Jake knew how much he was loved by all, not just his family & friends. Sunday will be a tough day as it would have been Jakes 25th Birthday, love & miss him everyday ⚓ Good luck to the whole team they have been fantastic x
A huge thanks to everyone involved in Jake & Robbie’s Rugby festival Sat 13th July especially Georgie & Alicia, the event was so well organised & so many people turned out to support both charities & of course the sun was a sweltering 30 deg’s!!! Pretty hot for the rugby teams, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, so much so the party carried on until 4.30 am!!⚓⚓
Some photos from the day.
Try For Jake x
On the 16th August 2013 30 of Jakes closest family & friends will be cycling from Dublin To Easkey on the west coast of Ireland, a place very dear to Jakes heart. We will be cycling for 3 days arriving at our destination on the 18th August, which would have been Jakes 25th birthday a very sad & poignant day for all of us. Hi to all Ireland coast to coast riders, we have 5 weeks of training left for our cycle ride hope your training is going well. We want to make this one of our big fundraisers for the year so please get supporters on board at our www.justgiving.com/irelandrideforjake site, lets see if we can help to find a cure for these horrible brain tumours that took away our beautiful Jakey much too soon. Miss him so very much ⚓⚓
